LABIOMISTA – Studio Koen Vanmechelen, Genk

We are proud to invite you to the event “The Walking Egg on Wheels: Affordable IVF in a Mobile Unit” taking place on Thursday, July 3 at the extraordinary location of LABIOMISTA – Studio Koen Vanmechelen in Genk. This event is organized by the Walking egg VZW in collaboration with UHasselt, the Limburg Clinical Research Center (LCRC) and Inez Limburg.

In 2020, the WHO published a fact sheet on infertility, acknowledging its huge impact in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), and advising these countries to develop national fertility policies and services.

Our event marks a unique moment where science, medicine, ethics, politics, and art come together to present a groundbreaking initiative: bringing accessible and affordable fertility care to low- and middle-income countries through fertilization and culturing of embryos with a simplified IVF system in low-cost IVF laboratories and in a mobile IVF unit.

With contributions from international experts and visionary thinkers, we will explore the impact and potential of The Walking Egg project from multiple perspectives. It promises to be a morning of insight, dialogue, and inspiration—culminating in a reception in the vibrant surroundings of LABIOMISTA.

Best regards,
